"I recently attended Kelly’s Basic Photography Workshop. I have had a DSLR camera for a few years but have only ever used the Automatic mode. Kelly is an excellent teacher and skilled photographer. We were taught the basics of how DSLRs work and were given different opportunities to take photos in different situations, as well as to edit them. It was a great course and true to her promise, I am now taking lovely photos on Manual mode!" Lavanya Grace November 2013

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP Part 1 Feb 2016
I didn't have a lot of expectations going in for this workshop! I had not picked the camera up since we bought it and am a self-confessed technical phobic, so .... No high hopes for me!
The day started with a meet and greet at the very quaint and cosy art studio in Chertsey. The location was fantastic... The day was pretty cold but having this base to return to for warm refreshments and yummy biscuits was great.
I was with a lovely bunch of fellow students all with different equipment, camera sizes, and lenses but I felt on par with the group. We had opportunities to share our lenses which was great for me, as I only have one.
Kelly threw us straight into the deep end with a practical start and created a variety of great shooting opportunities using different models throughout the day.
After each exercise, we had the chance to review images in Lightroom and discuss how they could be improved.
Again ...... I had no previous experience using Lightroom or editing but you very quickly get to learn your way around!
Each time we reviewed our images throughout the day I could see improvement. I was completely shocked by the images I managed to achieve in just one day.
My confidence grew 100% and I felt really proud of myself. I loved taking part in the workshop and would recommend it to anybody that has a camera.
My favourite part was learning not just about the technicality but the creative freedom we had and learning what really makes a great photo.
I know I've discovered a new love and hobby and can't wait to explore this newfound skill!
Yipeeeee!
